OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) – “I don’t know how many, but I know I hit the last one, and I am proud of it.”

During Thursday’s Unified basketball game between Oshkosh West and Neenah, it came down to one shot—a shot that Neenah senior Zavier Brzezinski didn’t think would go in.
“I was not expecting it to go in; I just threw it up. Otherwise, it would have been a tie,” Zavier said.
But it did, giving Neenah a win for the second year of this unity-centric event. Zavier is most excited about the crowd rushing onto the court, everyone celebrating this big moment with him.
“I was very happy for that because last year we played here and someone else got the game-winning and they got a crowd coming at them. I felt pretty good for the first time, having everyone come and celebrate with me and say MVP.”
Zavier is a part of Neenah’s Special Olympics basketball team, and said he enjoys being a part of games like this, playing a sport he loves.
“Get, have some helpers, and play against different teams, different high schools, or just have fun on the basketball court,” Zavier said.”
Educators say being able to watch the students take over running the game means as much to them, showcasing just far the students have come.
“To watch them take over. Like I said, the coaching, some of the coaching responsibilities, running the scoreboard, just leading the cheers, and at the end, again, with them charging the court just to promote and support, both the Neenah athletes as well as the Oshkosh West athletes,” Oshkosh West Connected Advisor Stephanie Polack said.

When asked what else Zavier wanted to say about his awesome shot, it was just as cheerful as the moment that followed the epic bucket:
“Go Neenah, really, Go Rockets!”
