BELLEVUE, Wis. (WFRV) – One person was pronounced dead at the scene of a fire in Bellevue on Sunday morning after two people became trapped inside a residence.
According to a release from the Green Bay Metro Fire Department, crews were called to a structure fire around 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 1, in the 100 block of Scarlet Lane in Bellevue.
Dispatch initially reported that two people were trapped inside the residence.

Crews arrived and were met with significant smoke billowing from the home, with one resident evacuated. Crews worked to find the second person, who was found and removed from the home; however, they were pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The fire was eventually contained around 8:50 a.m. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
