(WFRV) – Authorities in Wisconsin say an investigation is underway after a non-verbal high school student was allegedly fed dog food by a staff member.
According to a release from the Madison Police Department, the parents of the non-verbal student reported the incident to officers around 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, but the alleged incident occurred on February 13.

Detectives with the Special Victims Unit are said to be leading the investigation, and the Madison Police Department is working with administration from the Madison Metropolitan School District.
The Madison Metropolitan School District is also said to have opened its own internal review into the incident.
