APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – A man and woman in Appleton could now be facing felony charges after allegedly stealing almost $3,500 worth of sunglasses.
According to a release from the Appleton Police Department, staff at a local business reported two separate retail theft complaints involving a man and a woman, who they say stole $3,428 worth of sunglasses.
Staff provided police with a license plate for the vehicle the suspects were using, and also told police that they believed some of the stolen items were being sold online.

Following a further investigation into the incident, officers say they identified online sellers who matched the suspects seen in the store on the available surveillance footage.
Attempts to contact the suspects were unsuccessful due to outdated phone numbers and addresses; however, due to surveillance footage, social media, and the known vehicle location, the two suspects were positively identified and referred to the district attorney’s office on two counts of felony retail theft.
