LAFAYETTE, Wis. (WFRV) – While officers broke up a fight between two men at a southern Wisconsin home, a woman was pronounced dead in the bedroom, prompting a death investigation.
A release from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office states that deputies were called to a disturbance in the W4000 block of Pine Court around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 21.

The 911 call, which came from the home, was disconnected, and authorities immediately responded.
Deputies arrived to find two men inside the home fighting. It was noted that both had visible injuries and were bleeding. They were subsequently separated and detained.
Following a search of the home, a 62-year-old woman was found unconscious in a bedroom. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Both men were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

According to the release, a person of interest is in custody. It was not noted if the person of interest was one of the two men or someone not specifically mentioned in the release.
