(WFRV) – Details regarding the cocaine found on school grounds in New London were released, and a teacher was officially charged.
According to a criminal complaint obtained by WFRV, 58-year-old Laurie Laubenstein has officially been charged with possession of cocaine near a school. On February 9 a police officer with the New London Police Department got an anonymous report about a teacher at Lincoln Elementary.

The report said the teacher, identified as Laubenstein, was behaving differently. The complaint also said there was powder on the counter of the bathroom.
On February 10, an officer visited Laubenstein’s room and found powder on the bathroom counter. It ended up testing positive for the presence of cocaine, the complaint said.
Two days later, on February 12, a K9 was deployed in the school’s parking lot and alerted on Laubenstein’s vehicle.
Authorities interviewed Laubenstein, who was described in the complaint as emotional and blowing her nose the entire time.
The complaint says Laubenstein told authorities she had something happen to her, but didn’t want to elaborate.
She admitted to starting cocaine back in August and using it before she went to school that day. The complaint also says she snorted cocaine in the corner of the classroom bathroom on the counter.
