(WFRV) – The 37-year-old Wisconsin woman who was on trial for 50+ animal mistreatment/improper sheltering charges heard her verdict while in court on Thursday.
Court records show that Margarita Arrieta-Alcaide of Kenosha was found guilty by a jury on all 54 charges relating to crimes against animals.

26 of the misdemeanor charges were for intentionally mistreating animals as a party to a crime, while 27 were for intentionally improper sheltering of animals due to sanitation, also as a party to a crime.
Arrieta-Alcaide was also convicted of mistreatment of animals causing death as a party to a crime, a Class I felony in Wisconsin. The jury deliberated for a couple of hours before finding her guilty.
Arrieta-Alcaide is set for a sentencing hearing on April 9 at 3 p.m. Another person was charged in the case and is set for an oral hearing on March 9.
