This week was “This is me” themed. That way America could get to know the contestants. They sang a song that showed their music direction and personality. They also had to reveal 5 fun facts about themselves. Much to mine and Carson’s dismay, Randy Jackson is still around as a mentor…. Hopefully not for long. He is past his Idol time. I would enjoy former contestants being the mentors instead; they actually have experience in what the process is like. This season has a lot of variety, which is good! Should be fun to see what genre takes the cake! America voted for which contestant went home, which was revealed Thursday night on the results show after 71 million votes were cast. Kristin O’Connor was sent packing, which wasn’t much of a surprise, as she didn’t win America’s heart last week, and was instead one of the judge’s wildcard picks. Next week’s theme is “Home,” which is where more contestants will be watching the show if they don’t sing their heart out!
